Born and raised in the vibrant cultural landscape of San Antonio, Texas, David Villanueva’s musical journey is rooted in heart, discipline, and soul. After discovering his musical voice on the South Texas scene, David formalized his craft at San Antonio’s renowned St. Mary’s University, graduating with a deep mastery of jazz tradition and performance.

David has spent decades honing a rare dual-threat talent: effortlessly commanding the stage as both a rich, soulful jazz crooner and an expressive, commanding saxophonist. His signature style bridges the gap between eras—channeling the nostalgic elegance of Frank Sinatra, Mel Tormé, and Nat King Cole, while breathing fresh, modern energy into classic jazz standards.

Over a prolific career, David has shared premium stages and paid his dues alongside some of the biggest icons in the industry. His performance pedigree includes collaborations and appearances with national jazz celebrities, including Lindsey Webster, Rick Braun, Paul Jackson Jr., Paquito D’Rivera, and the legendary late jazz vocalist Kevin Mahogany.
